king me

today i'm listening to: crown on the ground - sleigh bells
you can/really should listen --->here

get in here.

get out there.

"she went from a scream to a squeak"

close your eyes...
are you still there?

someone cut me in line today.
i fucking hate that.
so i wrote a poem:

i have my own breed of anger for cutters of lines
why they think their time wears more jewelry than mine
who is to say that their minute's worth saving
the time they've now added to the wait of those waiting
why they think their one item should outweigh my eight
just because they're "so sorry" but they're "running late"

every time i see you,
everything starts making sense.
"there must be more to life than sitting
around wondering if there is more to life"
(i think this depends on where you're sitting)

i have no idea how my roommate survived work yesterday after we went to teddy's late into the evening:
text message sent at 3:03 PM: Are you alive?
                     3:04 PM: If yes...How???
response at 3:19 PM: i am super woman.

(oh, well, of course.)

last night
i went to the LOCALE magazine "rebirth issue release party".
one of my closest gal pals is the production director of the publication so it was a friend-studded event.
(star-studded events are soooo 2008. go party with your friends, hollywood.)
the party was tip-top terrific
and reminded me that my friends are a talented bunch of hooligans.
albeit sometimes a (drunk) talented bunch of hooligans (that slightly offend people).
life is so fun.

because the party was in orange county with the society-ites of newport beach, i found myself eavesdropping on conversations about nothing.

this made me wonder- how fun can your life actually be when you don't read or create or think thoughts of any sort of substance?
is ignorance really bliss?

a thought on beings of no substance:

fill your head
with empty thoughts,
your empty lives.
you can't release
when there's nothing to let go of
(and that why we keep having all the fun)

this <---made me laugh today

this bedroom is too. much. love it.

oh how fabulous life can be.
can we all have ballrooms in our homes, or what?
let's make life a celebration.

i am really hoping i will be getting
a phone call
or
e-mail
or
text
or
christmas card
or
courier pigeon
or
any other form of communication
from my future employer
today
or
soon
or
right now.

until then,
i'm still jogging, and blogging, and trying to find another hobby that rhymes. (for rhyming's sake)
drown me out.
"if someone breaks your heart- just punch them in the face. oh sure, it seems obvious now, but you'd be amazed at how many people don't think of it when it's relevant. seriously, just punch them in the face and go get some ice cream." -chuck klosterman
