a cloud of butterflies through ordinary curtains.

today i'm listening to: skinny love- bon iver

"maybe some women aren't meant to be tamed.
Maybe they need to run free
till they find someone just as wild
to run with them"

i've been pretty sick for over a week,
but i'm still working
seven. days. a. week. regardless.

oh my.
i'm
100-miles-an-hour-swtchin'-lanes-like-WOAH.

perhaps i'm seasick?

in good news:
i'm doing a fine job at work.
so fine, in fact, that i have been given
my very own exhibit to curate on my own.
(!!!!!!!!!!!)... (shh... keep it cool, tory).

the roy orbison exhibit at the GRAMMY museum opens april 13 (tentative) and will be the first exhibit
i curated
and designed
all on my lonesome.

orbison was one of rock and roll's pioneers-- on the sun records label with elvis, johnny cash, and jerry lee lewis.
he sang "only the lonely" and this little ditty:

pretty fucking remarkable for the resume.
(and many more to come!)

thus-
i've been in
a. permanent design mode
and
b. permanent writing mode
simultaneously
and--
when combined with
c. sick mode...

my life has become the human equivalent to
d. all of the above.

a.k.a--
i am all-consuming and all-encompassing:
doing everything and having to be everywhere all at once.

(just breathe.)

fantastic.

when you sit next me
things get a bit blurry.

the one who's hard to quit:
quit figuring him out
and just say go figure.

dreamy.

to stare at nothing.
on stairs to nowhere.
(i'd like to embrace the void)

rattling off:
my cough is rattling through my chest.
my mind is rattling through my head.
my heart is shake, rattle, and roll.

rattle is a funny word.

ysl: a snapshot by basquiat

busy girls are happy girls. although i truly can't wait to have a moment to stand on the rocks, play in the dirt, float in the water, smile at the sun, and breathe in and out. and only that.
i'll let you know when that moment comes...

until then, i'll be researching rock stars, experimenting with cobalt blue, and amused at the thought of nine to five. and laugh. how lovely that would be.
